Indications
Relief of all grades of pain and inflammation in a wide range of conditions, including : arthritic conditions, rheumatoid arthritis, osteo-arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, acute gout, acute musculo-skeletal disorders such as periarthritis (for example frozen shoulder), tendinitis, tenosynovitis, brusitis, other painful conditions resulting from trauma, including fracture, low back pain, sprains, strains, dislocations, orthopaedic, dental and other minor surgery
Chemical Composition
Each suppository contains Diclofenac Sodium BP 100 mg
Packaging
2 x 5 suppositories
Dosage & Administration
Adults : One 100 mg suppository may be given as a once daily treatment usually at night. Where necessary therapy may be combined with tablets up to a total maximum dose of 150 mg diclofenac per day
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the excipients. Active, gastric or intestinal ulcers, bleeding or perforation. History of gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation, relating to previous NSAID therapy. Active, or history of recurrent peptic ulcer / haemorrhage. Last trimester of pregnancy. Severe hepatic, renal or cardiac failure. Like other NSAIDs, diclofenac is also contraindicated in patients in whom attacks of asthma, angioedema, urticaria or acute rhrinitis are precipitated by ibuprofen, acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAIDs.Proctitis. Established congestive heart failure, ischemic heart disease, peripheral arterial disease and/or cerebrovascular disease
Side Effects
Common side effects are nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, dyspepsia and rash.
Drug Interaction
Some medicines can interfere with your treatment. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any of the following: Diuretics and antihypertensive agents, drugs known to cause hyperkalemia, SSRIs, methotrexate, Ciclosporin, Tacrolimus, Colestipol and cholestyramine, Cardiac glycosides, Mifepristone
