Indications

Hydrosil is used for the relief of pain in gastric ulcer, gastric pain or discomfort due to excessive acid secretion in the stomach (dyspepsia) and in reflux oesophagitis (heartburn).

Chemical Composition

Each tablet contains Magnesium Hydroxide 200mg, Dried Aluminium Hydroxide Gel equivalent to Aluminium Hydroxide 200mg and Simethicone 20mg.

Dosage & Administration

2 - 4 tablets chewed or sucked before swallowing, taken when pain occur or when expected (usually between meals and before bed).

Contraindications

Hydrosil is contraindicated in patients with gastrointestinal obstruction, renal insufficiency and in patients with low plasma concentration of phosphate (hypophosphataemia).

Warning & Precautions

Avoid prolonged use. Hydrosil should be used with caution in patients on dialysis and patients with low-phosphate diets.

Side Effects

At the recommended dosage, Hydrosil is usually well tolerated

Drug Interaction

Like other antacids, Hydrosil should not be taken together with other drugs such as tetracycline, iron, rifampicin, digoxin, cimetidine, chlorpromazine, penicillamine; as it may reduce the effects of these drugs. If prescribed, they may be taken one to two hours after Hydrosil.
