Indications

Adjunct in treating, Inflammation and edema associated with surgery, accidental trauma (tonsillectomy, episiotomy, fractures, sprains etc). Acute & chronic sinusitis, otitis media, breast engorgement, dental injections and alveolar abscess. To facilitate expectoration in bronchitis & lung infections. Gynecological infections.

Chemical Composition

Each enteric coated tablet contains:
Serratiopeptidase : 10mg
(20,000 Serratiopeptidase units)
Excipients :Q.S.
Colour: Brilliant Blue FCF & Tartrazine

Dosage & Administration

Usually, for adults, one tablet orally, three times daily after meal without chewing. Dosage may be increased according to condition.

Contraindications

Patients with a history of hypersensitivity to the ingredients of this drug.

Warning & Precautions

In patients with blood coagulation abnormalities. severe hepatic and renal disturbances or under treatment with anti coagulants, SERAZYME should be given under careful observation. SERAZYME may occasionally cause gastrointestinal disturbances such as anorexia, gastric discomfort and nausea. Administration should be discontinued when hypersensitive symptoms, such as eruption, appear.

Side Effects

Gastro-intestinal disorders: diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, anorexia, and epigastric discomfort.Respiratory tract disorders: very rare it may be nasal bleeding and streaks of blood in sputum; in literature it was reported about the case of acute eosinophil pneumonia. In persons with hypersensitivity allergic reactions and skin rash are possible.

Drug Interaction

In concurrent usage with anticoagulants the preparation intensifies their activity. Such combination should be used under careful medical supervision.
